Diabetics at TGI Friday
If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.
Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:
Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

About TGI Friday
TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.
Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.

Why am I even bothering to review this place? Maybe because I was in a really good mood when I walked in, and a pissy mood when I walked out. This was my second experience at this Fridays. The first time there was hair in the potstickers. The waitress was like "do you want me to remake it?" as if she expected us to just eat around it. This time, we came in around 8:30 and were greeted by nobody. We had to ask the bartender who said we could take a table in the bar as long as we had ID. Side note just for the sake of my anger- what if I didn't have one? Would I be turned away and told to go somewhere else? Maybe a hostess should be on staff until at least 9. So anyway we go into the bar, which has like 8 booths- 2 occupied, 7 semi-clean (meaning bussed but either not wiped down or crumby seats) and pick the least offensive one. So I see we have no host and no busser, but two bartenders for about 6 people sitting in the bar. Our bartender was okay at best. He was reeeeally trying to upsell me some beer- my friend had asked for a sample and he brought samples for both of us, then kept pushing and pushing even though I told him A) I'm driving and B) I don't like beer. So anyway we order some food. Spinach dip (which was half price and not bad) and we each ordered a steak (I know... A mistake), mine rare, hers medium rare. It came out and hers was perfect, and mine was not. Firstly the waitress who brought it spilled sauce on me. She apologized but left the table sticky. Then the bartender like ran over to tell us to cut into the steak to see how it was done. I cut near the end and it looked a little medium but I was willing to keep trying. Then I took my first bite. It was like leather. I cut right through the center and it was medium well. A long way from rare. So I sent it back. They "cooked" me a new one and again I was forced to cut into it while he was watching. The steak was grey on the outside like it was steamed. And the inside was f*cking raw. Like RAW. So the bartender took it back to cook some more. In that time I decided it wasn't worth it and cancelled my order. Hey, manager with the offensively pink shirt? I know you're around here somewhere. You delivered our appetizer. Where are you now to apologize, or offer me something else? I know you know what's going on because the bartender had you take the steak off the bill. When the bartender took the steak off, he told me so as if he was doing me a favor. Uhhh yeah, I wouldn't have paid for that one bite of "meat" even if you had tried to charge me. And then he said something again after he ran our cards. "Don't worry about the steak." Well, I didn't have a steak so I sure won't worry about it, buddy. I'll never return to this Fridays. I wouldn't even come back if you told me Ryan Reynolds was there wearing nothing but Jack Daniels sauce.

It's been at least 7 years since I've dined at a TGI Friday's and a lot has changed since then. The menu is completely unrecognizable to me now. At our waiter's recommendation, I tried the Cajun pasta. I found it to be mediocre, at best. The shrimp in my dish were extremely small and the Cajun alfredo sauce was a little too watery. I was also a little disappointed that it didn't come with any garlic bread -- or any bread at all. The boyfriend ordered a steak with a side of vegetables and mashed potatoes. The cheesy mashed potatoes were probably the best part of his dish. The steak was decent (I don't think you can or should expect much more than that). The vegetables were a disappointment as they were extremely bitter and limp. Obviously I haven't missed out on much over the past 7 years and it'll probably be about that long before I return again.

Wouldn't be my first choice but my 15 year old is hungry and not much else is open . I ate a delicious seared burger at home with fresh rosemary bread and Boccini infused in amazing olive oil herbs and red pepper accompanied with baby heirloom tomatoes and mixed greens with olive oil and lemon. Oh my review for the all American stacked burger is on its way. Alright this burger is really good has Asiago and parm with peppery bacon crisp cold iceberg tomato and an onion jam. Fries were cold. Arrg that's the worst eating tepid frys oh and the bun was toasted. Good choir

I took the family here last night for dinner. I had the sirloin steak. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because it was cooked perfectly to medium rare. That is the only good thing of the night. My wife ordered a club sandwich with avocado. It had 2 very small slices of avocado on half of it...that's it! The service was mediocre at its best and awful at its worst. My water glass sat empty for half my meal. I ordered a salad to come out before my meal with my wife's soup. Not only did it not come out before with my wife's soup (which came out on time and was very good) but it came out after my steak! And the waiter, who obviously forgot to put in the salad, realized his mistake when he brought out my steak. Instead of being honest and telling me he forgot he decided to tell me he would "try" to find out what happened to my salad?!? I will not return to this location ever again. I would literally recommend any other restaurant in the area over this particular Friday's.

All I can say is no. Don't bother going here. I've gotten sick twice now from eating there. I'd rather pay a little more somewhere else then deal with a 3 hour stomach ache. UPDATE: This has been almost 24 hrs of horrible stomach pain. I did not eat anything else before or after eating here. I couldn't even look at food and still can't. Never coming back here again. I hope this location gets shut down.
(1)Ben L.
Went here for dinner with my family, i ordered the Fridays shrimp and it was a rip off, i got about 6 shrimp that were pretty small and flavorless. It took the server about 5-7 minutes to bring us our drinks(we got water). Our server also never checked in with us to see if we needed anything and we had to take napkins off another table cause our server wasn't around for us to ask. All in all a bad dinner, i don't know what happened to Fridays, it used to be so good with the food and service.
(2)Dan C.
I went there at 4pm, and caught a shift change going on, so service was really poor, then I could not a Steak cooked Medium Rare, even after 3 tries! The Waitress was great and so was the free dessert...but I won't be going back anytime soon, the cook just does not know how to cook a steak.
(2)Anonymous S.
If you're at this Friday's now, do yourself a favor and RUN OUT NOW! People, it is absolutely disgusting! When walking to the bathroom you can see that they touch everything with their hands (no gloves), they quickly put their hands under warm water for .7 seconds and dry them off with a paper towel ("washing hands"), they never properly clean the restaurant throughout lunch or dinner, and don't even get me started on the service! Bartenders who are complete jerks, and treat the guests like an inconvenience (ummm, hello, you're there because of the guests. Otherwise you wouldn't have a job!) Servers who rather sit and chat with one another, rather than do their jobs. Hosts who make you feel like a burden and unwelcomed. The food is greasy, no one was wearing gloves, the plates and cups have crap left on it, and by the looks of it they just scratched whatever gunck was on it off with their fingernails, the restaurant as a whole is smelly because of its sewage problems.. I really can't go on. It's just too gross. After working at multiple restaurants, it has really opened my eyes and shown me that not every restaurant is clean and hygiene friendly. Also, some people should just NOT work in food service. If I tried to pull half of that crap on a new job, I would (rightfully so) be fired. This place is such a joke. Please do not waste your money here. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
(1)LaWanna O.
The pecan crusted chicken salad is yum yum, and the jack daniels ribs & shrimp are great! I always have a coupon which they circulate in the coupon books & papers, so it ends up being super cheap to eat here! TGIF for real!
(4)Jennifer L.
If you are a coupon person then this is the place for you. I'm surprised we haven't been banned yet because it seems like we never pay more than $10 for the 3 of us to eat. It doesn't help that I'm apparently addicted to Jack Daniels burgers. The food can be hit or miss sometimes, maximum 10 fries on a plate or veggies coming out cold, but the service has always made up for it. I think you generally know what you are getting when you go to Fridays, it's not like nobody has been there before. This location is one of our favorites because the staff are always friendly and the food always comes out quickly.
(4)Adam C.
We live across the street, and as someone who works 70 hours a week in the transport industry, my 2 days off are spent with my wife and son. Friday is my first day off and it's our day as a family to go eat lunch together. We've been to this Fridays I'm the past and the experience is always EH. Not great but never off putting, the staff is usually very nice to us but the food is always just so-so. Today we walked in and there's no hostess. We awkwardly stood around until someone finally acknowledged us there and took us to our table. Table was clean, others have said it's dirty here but I didn't think that, so there's at least one good thing. Our waitress comes over and isn't rude but also not friendly in the least. Food service blows but it's your job, if you don't like it then work elsewhere. You shouldn't make your customers feel like they've inconveniences you simply for walking in. Anyways, we ordered 2 burgers, the pretzel bread with cheese sauce, and 2 cokes. Appetizer came and was actually good minus them putting a ridiculous amount of chopped onions atop the cheese sauce. But that was about it as far as the food went. Burgers were ordered medium rare, what we got was barely cooked but having been on the road for a day and a half prior with no food for myself to eat, I'd already wolfed down half of it before noticing how raw it was (my wife's was only a little better). Hardly half way though I suddenly had an awful stomach ache as did my wife. We stopped eating and ended our meal there, the last thing we needed was food poisoning from under cooked food. We could've said something or even dent it back but really, why bother? Clearly no one cares at this place, and we certainly don't care to come back. Stay away, there are much better burger joints just down the road in Libertyville
(2)Eileen L.
Poor service, wasn't offered refills on our drinks, burger was so, so. Not sure if I will come back to this location again. Our server never checked in with us to see if we needed anything. My son ordered the shrimp and only got 6 pieces. Felt I got ripped off since the cost of it was $12.
(2)Thomas P.
Best service and the food was fresh and delicious! Polite atmosphere and the manager was very sweet. Our server, Glenda, was probably the most wonderful server we've ever had, a thousand thanks to her. Keep it up Friday's, you're top notch.
(5)Christopher V.
This place isn't bad per se, but it isn't good. Even compared to other Friday's, it lacks a certain something. The service and food are not as good as other Friday's locations I've been to. I don't have a reason to say not to go there, but I'm just saying I'm not eager to go back.
(3)John M.
Ok Food, Great Managers lousy nighttime bartenders, they can't keep anything to themselves!!!!
(2)Jeff S.
I would have liked t review the food and service but sadly we never had the chance to sit down and eat. How odd is it to walk into a restaurant on a Wednesday night and see abut 20 empty tables and be told there is a 20 minute wait? Well, that's what happened to us. We were told that the kitchen needed time to catch up after the dinner rush. We were offered a seat in the bar but there were no tables just stools at the bar. We could have sat at one of the 20 empty tables in the dining room and ordered drinks and decided what we wanted to eat but that wasn't an option. I'm guessing there is more to the story here other than "the kitchen needed time to catch up". I'm guessing the lack of visible servers and the lack of visible managers had something to do with the excuse they were giving people for the 20 minute wait. After about 10 minutes, we gave up and went to a different chain restaurant down the street. Maybe that was a good decision because of the fact we only saw 3 servers in the restaurant the entire time we were there, I'm guessing it would have taken forever to get served.
(1)Meghan H.
I've never liked this place and I was dragged here the other day... Every meal and menu item that I've had just tastes so mass-produced and artificially-flavored/seasoned. That's what you get from a chain I suppose. It's insane how much this place switches up their menu. Every time I come here, the menu layout and menu items are different. I definitely appreciate TGIF's attempts at "keepin it fresh", but the change doesn't ever seem to have any effect on the quality of the food here. It remains bland and feels (and is) highly caloric. I try to avoid this place as much as possible :-/
(2)Toukta P.
Fridays to me is only good for a few of their signature dishes. Jack daniels sirloin and shrimp and some of their appetizers such as the tuna bites, mac and cheese and hibachi chicken skewers. The drinks are pretty good but a little pricy. Become a stripes member and get free chips and salsa and build points for rewards. I come here a lot but the service here is definitely slacking now.
(3)Joel A.
I remember TGI Friday's as being a much better chain restaurant many years ago. They got all into special sauces and spices to hide the flavor of the mediocre meat. The service is great and the atmosphere is fine but the food is not as good as it was 10-15 years ago.
(3)Val A.
I've been going here since I was a little kid and I've never been let down. Good service, good food.
(4)Andrew S.
TGI Fridays is best if you have coupons that save you a lot of money. And there are plenty of those out there. I like their burgers. Nothing special about the place though. I've been there a handful of times, and each time my fries have been really salty. But, it's an alright place to eat with a friend or two.
(3)Anthony D.
meh, it was what one would expect I suppose. The Korean steak tacos were ok but one of my dinner companions had a burger that was equivalent to a hockey puck. They didn't charge us for it but how hard is it to make a burger?
(2)CaptainObvious S.
Terrible service. My husband really wanted to come here for Father's Day because we had over 100 points and could get a free burger and money is tight right now. Well they ruined our Father's Day. First I ordered our toddlers lunch as soon as we sat down and asked for it to be brought out before ours. The waitress took mine and my husbands order several minutes later. The meals took forever and our toddler started losing it (and she's usually great in restaurants). They ended up bringing my toddlers meal with us. Then we ordered her a kiddie sundae. It took forever. It wasn't busy, we got there at 11 and there was barely anyone else there. When the kiddie sundae eventually arrived it was completely melted. It was liquid, more watery than a shake. I told the waitress and asked if we could have a cup to pour it in so our kid could drink it since it was impossible to eat with a spoon. It was seriously like soup. That took FOREVER. I assumed they were just giving her a new sundae since it was taking so long. Nope. It took the waitress in a not at all business restaurant 5-8 min to bring us a kids cup and straw for her ice cream soup. Then, my husband showed her his points on his iPhone and she saw we had over 100 points and she saw it said we got a free sandwich or burger. When my husband tapped redeem, the system kicked him out and wouldn't let him back in. The waitress and the manager tried to look up our points in their system and they couldn't get in either. So something is obviously wrong with the tgi rewards website. After 15 more min just sitting at our table waiting for the bill the manager said we would have to pay the whole bill since their system wasn't working. The three if us were so crabby by that point we just wanted to get out of there asap bc we had to put out daughter down for a nap. I told the owner the waitress saw our points and saw we earned a free burger/sandwich, why should we have to pay bc their system isn't working. He finally comped it and made it sound like a favor. Unreal. We are pretty easygoing, we too 20% standard for mediocre service and way over for good and great service. It's not like we're crabby people always complaining. But I was so annoyed they put a damper on Father's Day I started writing this review on the way home. Oh and if you're wondering, yes, they charged us for the totally melted sundae. I'd be more understanding if they had been busy, but they weren't. Now I know why.

Not usually a fan of Fridays but came with dads night with my daughter who is five. Our server was Alley and she was very good. Our pretzel appetizers came out fast and hot, our main dishes where spot on. During the whole experience Alley refilled drinks prebussed the table and brought wipes without asking. Definitely a five star experience. Thank You Fridays!

Expect the worst, hope for the best. That MUST be your motto when entering any TGI Fridays. Full disclosure: I actually worked at this location many moons ago. To answer your question, yes, I wore flair. No, I didn't enjoy it. In fact, it was one of the most hellacious jobs I've ever had from the bad uniforms to the bad food to the bad décor. Honestly, one of the worst months of my life. So when I found myself out with my mom and neighbor on Christmas day STARVING after seeing a movie, with literally no other options open (Damn you, Portillos for not being open on Christmas!), we stumbled into TGI Fridays. I outwardly cringed when I walked in the door I haven't stepped foot through since 2002. Would it be as terrible as I remember? Truth? Not so bad! We ended up in the bar since the joint was absolutely hopping, which makes sense since it was the only restaurant I saw open in the area, and the cute, jolly bartender guy greeted us with a smile. He took our much needed alcohol order and left us to peruse the menu. Yeah... it's definitely changed since my Fridays days. Lots of yummy sandwiches, salads, pastas and meat dishes are displayed on the entirely re-tooled menu. I ended up with a Santa Fe salad, which is chicken, beans, corn, onions, peppers and I subbed the balsamic vinaigrette for the creamy ranch dressing. This was literally the healthiest thing on the menu, which is shocking. No Guiltless Grill like Chili's? No plain chicken and veggie salad? What do you expect dieters to DO in your restaurant??!!! Menu woes aside, it was a good experience. I dug my food, my mom dug her chicken pasta dish and my neighbor dug her pecan crusted chicken salad. We left with three very full and happy Christmas bellies.

We go back decades with Friday's to Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, and S. California. It was great in the beginning and then it got sloppy and not good at all. But we think they are back on track. We have gone twice in the last month and both times the food was very good, the service was excellent and the ambience was much improved. That old sour beer smell is a distant memory and there are many NON-fried foods to allow for some healthy choices. We had a half rack of ribs that were quite tender and tasty. The cole slaw was some of the best we've had and the fries were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The Chicken Picatta Pasta was our other entree and it was quite delicious. Capers, artichokes and a lemon sauce with angel hair pasta and the chicken breast diced just bite size made for a nice combination. Cupcake Pinot was on special for $5 a glass, too. All in all a very nice meal with three glasses of wine (2 + 1) and our bill with tax was under $50. We will become regulars if they maintain their quality standards where they are.

Ehh just decent place. I saw on the menu "friday's shrimp" which was described as butter fried shrimp layed on top of fries. I immediately fell in love! The portion however was pretty small compared to what I had in mind and it tasted pretty basic. Nothing really special. The slushes were pretty good as well and free refills is dope!

The bartenders here are really good at flair bar-tending- and that makes for a fun time! The food is good, and its a good place to watch the bears game, its not a busy as other bars- so you can actually enjoy the game and not fight the crowds.

I went there twice this month, and I'm left with some disappointment. The first time this month I went there, it was at night and we were served by Kelly. She was nice and friendly. However, after taking our orders, she disappeared for long periods of time. Our appetizer (fried green beans) never came after waiting for over a half hour. We finally got them after we finally got a hold of Kelly. At this point, I was like, it's not her fault that it came late. However, when our food was getting brought out, one of my friend's sides were incorrect. So, we had to wait another 10+ min. for his correct side to come out. We saw our server one time when eating our dinner and didn't see her for nearly an hour. We saw her when she gave us the bill. I was a tad disappointment with the service that night. Second time, I went with my family. I convinced myself that what happened the first time was just a fluke. After being greeted, we were taken to a table that was cleaned half assed. I found some crap on my chair and the chair my mom sat down was missing the end piece (that allows you to adjust the height of the chair) and there was some kind of sticky residue left behind by the last person that sat there. One of the hostess was kind of enough to wipe it down with a towel. I'm thinking to myself...oh great, not again.... Everything was fine until we got out food. We each got different kinds of steaks (flat iron, sirloin, and rib eye). My mom and sister each got the shrimp scampi along with their steaks. The shrimp scampi was really salty, but they didn't want to make a big deal out of it since we waited for our food for some time and did not want to wait any longer. They were left disappointed and were not impressed. Given what occurred, I'm not sure I eat there anytime soon.
